TAKE ACTION INSTITUTE
Through the power of testimonies and lessons from the Holocaust, the institute will produce curriculum, conferences and training engaging students of all ages to develop and build necessary skills enabling them to take action in their community.
TAKE ACTION CONFERENCE
BE PART OF AN EVENT LIKE NO OTHER
Every year, the Take Action Institute will hold a conference convening high school and college students who desire to take action in their communities. We will teach them the skills they need and equip them with tools to build sustainable projects.
Over a two day period, students will be inspired to dare to begin telling their story and engaging in activism. They will be exposed to keynotes and facilitators who have started movements, peaceful activations, and are expert in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. Students will receive tangible tools that they can use to take action effectively and consciously in their own communities.
We are proud to partner with Universal Studios who will share their secrets to story telling success.
Students will attend this conference with an open mind and desire for change and will leave equipped to immediately take action.
EVENTS ALL YEAR LONG
TRAINING AND MENTORING
IN-PERSON & ONLINE ENGAGMENT
Regular events including virtual seminars, in person meet ups, and hybrid events will be held to ensure year-round engagement. Members will be surveyed regularly to ensure the institute has the pulse on the help they need most. Trainings will be developed
from these responses and the needs of the community.
Conference speakers and facilitators will be asked to be mentors to students. Students will also be trained to become mentors over time as their projects grow and thrive.
A directory of all members will be available to everyone to encourage collaboration. A private Facebook group will be developed to enable members to share ideas and request help with specific topics of concern.
RESOURCES AND TOOLS
The Take Action Institute will provide content including downloadable PDFs, videos, webinars, podcasts and more to provide students with knowledge around specific resources and tools needed to help them begin and continue their project work. Materials will be curated from partners including USC Shoah Foundation, Echoes &
Reflections, Interfaith Youth Core, and other patterning institutions from around the world.
A BIGGER COMMUNITY TO SHARE YOUR STORY
Member projects will be featured in the Students Take Action area of our website, through regular newsletters and social media. Outreach will be done to help engage others to assist in their work.
